WILD KRUGER | The Leopard Mother Who Hid Her Cubs From Every Killer in Africa | Wildlife Documentary

Ninety kilos of antelope, three times her own weight - straight up a tree, in her jaws. She has to do it, because if lions or hyenas reach her food on the ground, her two cubs starve. This is the story of Asha, a leopard mother in Kruger: a secret den in a dry riverbed, hyenas at the foot of her tree, a pride of lions walking straight toward her hiding cubs, a river that belongs to crocodiles - and the day one of her cubs has to make a choice no cub is ready for. Zuri ran. Amara waited. Asha hid. Which mother would you trust with your life? Tell me in the comments 👇 🎬 HOW THIS FILM WAS MADE Most of what you see is real wildlife footage. A few moments that are almost never filmed - newborn cubs in the den, a mother carrying a cub by the scruff, cubs playing and sleeping in the branches - are shown with carefully made AI reconstructions based on what scientists have documented. Asha is a composite character built from real leopard behaviour. 00:00 Straight up a tree 00:32 The tree 01:32 The secret den 02:29 Leopards are prey 03:19 The move 04:22 Our wild families 04:57 Blue eyes 05:53 Invisible borders 06:48 The hunt 07:54 The kill 08:53 Built for the dark 09:43 Hyenas 10:31 Lions 11:26 Cubs in the tree 12:13 The river 13:08 The storm 14:05 Leopard school 15:07 The stranger 16:06 Letting go 17:00 The choice 17:50 Next week Footage: Storyblocks (licensed); Pixabay (Pixabay Content License); Wikimedia Commons - Addshore (CC BY-SA 4.0), Thierry Dugnolle (CC BY-SA 4.0).
