I Stole a FIRE WYVERN EGG… Then Everything Went Wrong! | ARK Astraeos Ep. 5

Some episodes go according to plan. This is not one of those episodes. 😂 Welcome back to ARK: Survival Ascended – Astraeos, where Gamer Dad continues exploring the map with confidence that is completely unsupported by previous results. We start Episode 5 with a cave run in search of the Artifact of the Devourer. Sounds simple enough. 🏆 Find the cave. 🔥 Fight my way through. 🧭 Get completely lost. 🏆 ARTIFACT OF THE DEVOURER ACQUIRED! Eventually I escape the cave feeling pretty good about myself... Until I realize something. I DIDN'T HAVE THE GAME SOUND ON. Excellent work, Gamer Dad. But things can only get better from here... Right? Next, I discover the Wyvern Cave, and apparently my survival instincts haven't improved because I decide going inside is a great idea. It nearly gets me killed. But somehow I manage to escape with something that makes the whole terrible decision worthwhile: 🔥 A FIRE WYVERN EGG! FINALLY! A WIN! And then... 💥 THE GAME CRASHES. About 15 minutes of gameplay disappears. ARK giveth. ARK taketh away. After recovering from that little disaster, there's still some unfinished business from Episode 4. The Rock Drake cave. Last time, toxic gas sent me running for my life. This time I'm prepared. I've got SCUBA gear. I've got determination. I've learned from my mistakes. Surely this is finally the Rock Drake episode... Nope. Another attempt. Another questionable adventure. And another reminder that being prepared and being Gamer Dad prepared are apparently two completely different things. But we did manage to walk away with the Artifact of the Devourer and a Fire Wyvern Egg, so I'm counting Episode 5 as a victory. A very messy victory.
