Break What Needs Breaking

*BREAK WHAT NEEDS BREAKING — J.R. Chambers* What if the breakthrough we've been praying for doesn't begin with God changing our circumstances... but with God changing us? Sometimes we ask God to remove the obstacles, calm the storms, fix our relationships, and make our lives easier. But how often do we ask Him to change what's inside us? Our pride. Our anger. Our selfishness. Our fears. Our need to control. The things we've been holding onto that keep us from becoming more like Jesus. *“Break What Needs Breaking”* is a raw, honest prayer of surrender. It's about coming before Jesus and saying: Lord, break the pride that keeps me from listening. Break the fear that keeps me from trusting. Break the selfishness that keeps me from loving. Tear down anything I've built that stands between You and me. Not because God wants to destroy us, but because He loves us enough to transform us. *“I don't want You just to bless me... I want You to make me like Jesus.”* That's the heart of this song. Sometimes the hardest prayer isn't “Lord, change them.” It's *“Lord, start with me.”* “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10 (KJV) If this song speaks to your heart, leave a comment and share it with someone who needs encouragement to surrender their struggles to Jesus.
