Golden State Killer: The Cop Who Hunted Himself for 40 Years

For more than four decades, California searched for one of the most elusive predators in American criminal history. He had been known by different names: the Visalia Ransacker, the East Area Rapist, and the Original Night Stalker. What investigators did not know was that all of those trails would eventually lead to the same man — former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo. This documentary follows the case from the strange burglaries in Visalia, through the terror across Northern and Southern California, to the DNA breakthrough that finally identified DeAngelo in 2018. It also looks at the survivors, investigators, witnesses, and decades of evidence that eventually brought one of America’s most notorious cold cases to an end. #GoldenStateKiller #JosephDeAngelo #TrueCrime
