Southern Thailand: Thung Wua Laen (Cabana) Beach Chumpon

Thung Wua Laen Beach was on my radar for a long time. I'd read the reviews and seen a couple of videos so planned the day with high expectations. I intended to have ashort day's ride and stay for a couple of days. Sadly, this wasn't to be as the reality of the beach was a little disappointing. The beach is lovely but the development is less than sympathetic to the surroundings. Consequently, the vibe felt wrong so I chose to push down the coast to Sairee beach. Sairee Beach is altogether less developed but happily maintains the charm of a lot of the other beaches in Southern Thailand. It made the day much longer than I anticipated and just re-inforced that when bicycle touring it's always best to keep your plans flexible.
