In this episode, we begin our journey from the beautiful town of Sonmarg and travel towards Leh in a Tempo Traveller, crossing some of the most breathtaking and challenging roads in the Himalayas. After spending a peaceful night in Sonmarg, we started early and headed towards the legendary Zojila Pass, one of the most thrilling mountain passes in India. Known for its narrow roads, steep cliffs, unpredictable weather, and stunning views, Zojila is an adventure in itself. As our Tempo Traveller climbed higher into the mountains, we were treated to dramatic landscapes, deep valleys, snow-covered peaks, and endless panoramic views that made every turn unforgettable. The road through Zojila tested both the driver’s skill and our nerves. At some stretches, the road seemed to hang on the edge of the mountain, with sheer drops on one side and towering cliffs on the other. Despite the challenging terrain, the beauty of the region was simply mesmerizing. Every kilometer revealed a new landscape, from lush green valleys near Sonmarg to the rugged, high-altitude desert terrain of Ladakh. Along the way, we experienced the changing colors of the mountains, crossed remote villages, and witnessed some of the most spectacular scenery in the Indian Himalayas. The journey itself became the destination, filled with adventure, excitement, and unforgettable memories. After a long but incredibly scenic drive, we finally reached Leh late at night. Tired but excited, we checked into our stay and reflected on one of the most beautiful road journeys we had ever experienced. The combination of thrilling mountain roads, stunning landscapes, and the unique atmosphere of Ladakh made this day truly special.
