The Belgorod-Kharkov Offensive - Aug. 22nd, 1943 | Call of Duty Pt. 29 | (United Fronts Mod)

August 22nd, 1943 - With the German offensive at Kursk blunted, the Red Army has launched a massive counterattack to drive the invader from their soil. Aimed at liberating the cities of Kharkov and Belgorod from fascist control, it will be the fourth battle for this region since the start of the war. Soviet planners hope that after their crushing victories at Kursk, it will be the last. The 5th Guards Tank Army having finally been reinforced with properly trained tankers, Pvt. Petrenko has been "lucky" enough to be transferred back to his infantry squad, just in time to join them for the assault. Welcome to Part 29! We're back to the Soviets, for the final two Eastern Front missions for quite some time. After this Kharkov two-parter, I don't think we'll be seeing the Russians until the Poland missions, pretty close to the end of the game. These Kharkov levels have always been some of my favorite in the series, the next one more so than this one, but Kharkov 1 is still one of the best urban battles the series has ever had.
