November 9th, 1942 - Almost two months since crossing the Volga, the Russian winter has set in, and the fighting in Stalingrad has devolved into a brutal street to street, house to house, floor to floor blood struggle between the soldiers of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army for every square meter of the city they can hold. Cpl. Voronin has not only managed to survive this hell on Earth, but has earned a promotion for his actions. Now a Junior Sergeant, and having proven himself more than a capable shot with a Mosin, he's been designated as a marksman, and has been tasked with aiding in the defense of a key building near the river bank. The only trouble - the route there is closely watched by German snipers. Travelling on the surface would be a death sentence, so in order to get to his new post in one piece, he and his comrades will have to flank around and beneath the enemy positions, through the sewers.
Welcome to Part 19! Skipped a week, had a lot going on and just never got around to uploading. Still sitting on a pretty big back log of these videos, but I'm trying to space out uploads so I don't run out and end up in a World at War situation where there are months without any videos. This particular mission is vanilla CoD 1, though with some changes from the mod, mainly in weapons and uniforms, and of course sound effects and lack of HUD. This has never really been one of my favorite missions, but it's certainly not a bad one, and just goes to show how crazy the fighting was in this city. Every building, every floor, every street, and even the sewers below the street. No part of Stalingrad was spared, it seems. Crazy stuff. Also of note is the first time we ever hear the German propaganda loudspeaker, which would go on to come back in CoD 2. Anyway, that's all I've got! Enjoy people!
As always, using the United Fronts Mod, which combines CoD 1, UO and a ton of custom modded missions together into one massive campaign, with updates to textures, sounds, weapons, numerous quality of life tweaks and changes, etc. Check out their ModDB page for a more comprehensive description, links included below. No HUD, shut off via mod options. Didn't really add or change anything here, beyond a location subtitle at the beginning since there's no journal loading screen.
