Uniden EXS2080 900MHz DSS Cordless Phone With Answering Machine- Initial Checkout & Brief Range Test

The initial checkout of a fairly rare Uniden 900MHz digital spread spectrum (DSS) cordless telephone from around the year 2000, model EXS2080. I also included a showing of the outer limits of the range on the transmit/outgoing audio side. I really like this phone. While its range, the main advantage of 900MHz DSS phones, pales in comparison to other higher-power Uniden 900MHz DSS phones, it's still at least 25% better than any other newer cordless phone I've ever used, including the "super long-range" VTech units and Panasonic's DECT 6 Plus units. Outside of the range, this phone is a lot more interesting than I expected since it has some iconic ringers commonly found on Uniden's analog phones of the time. I don't know of a single other DSS model with this base ringer from the 900MHz era, and I only know of two other 900MHz DSS models with the same handset ringers, those being in the same series as this unit. The performance of the base speakerphone is above average for phones like this.
