Even though we crave it deeply, being in relationship is not easy. Maybe you find yourself panicking when connection feels threatened or shutting down and wanting to pull away?
Why can something as simple as a delayed text, distance from a partner, or a shift in tone feel so overwhelming in the body?
In this video, I walk through how attachment patterns form, why they are deeply connected to the nervous system, and how many of the ways we try to feel safe in relationships are learned survival responses rather than flaws in who we are.
We’ll explore:
• Why connection and safety become linked in childhood
• The roots of anxious and avoidant attachment
• What happens in the body when connection feels threatened
• Why old relationship patterns repeat
• How to become your own source of safety
Your end goal isn’t becoming someone who no longer needs connection, it’s learning how to stay connected to yourself when connection shifts, ruptures, or feels uncertain.
If this resonates, I highly recommend exploring my book, You’re Not the Problem. The book goes much deeper into how the nervous system shapes our thoughts, behaviors, emotions, relationships, habits, motivation, and sense of self. Most of what we call “personality” or “struggle” makes much more sense when we understand the adaptations our system created to help us survive.
