Slow and clear listening practice. Scene 1 - At the cafe: ordering a coffee. "Je voudrais un café, s'il vous plaît." (I would like a coffee, please.) "Le café coûte combien, s'il vous plaît?" (How much is the coffee, please?) "Je peux payer par carte?" (Can I pay by card?) Scene 2 - At the bakery: buying bread and counting change. "Je voudrais une baguette, s'il vous plaît." (I would like a baguette, please.) "Ça fait trois euros dix en tout." (That is three euros ten in total.) "Vous avez la monnaie?" (Do you have change?) Scene 3 - At the restaurant: booking a table. "Je voudrais réserver une table." (I would like to book a table.) "Il y a de la place?" (Is there room?) "Nous allons venir à quatre personnes." (We are going to come as four people.) Scene 4 - On the cafe terrace: choosing a drink. "Qu'est-ce que tu veux boire?" (What do you want to drink?) "j'aime bien le jus d'orange aussi." (I like orange juice too.) "Trois euros, ça va." (Three euros, that is fine.) Scene 5 - At the brasserie: ordering the dish of the day. "Qu'est-ce qu'il y a aujourd'hui?" (What is there today?) "Alors je voudrais le plat du jour." (I would like the dish of the day.) "Je ne comprends pas. Vous pouvez répéter?" (I do not understand. Can you repeat?) Scene 6 - At the tea room: sharing a cake and paying. "on peut partager le gâteau, c'est mieux." (We can share the cake, it is better.) "Je voudrais un thé aussi, s'il te plaît." (I would like a tea too, please.) "On doit payer maintenant?" (Do we have to pay now?) Scene 7 - At the pizzeria: ordering a pizza to take away. "Je voudrais une pizza à emporter." (I would like a pizza to take away.) "La pizza coûte combien, s'il vous plaît?" (How much is the pizza, please?) "La pizza est prête dans quinze minutes." (The pizza is ready in fifteen minutes.) Scene 8 - At the ice cream shop: choosing a flavour. "Je voudrais une glace au chocolat, s'il te plaît." (I would like a chocolate ice cream, please.) "La glace coûte combien ici?" (How much is the ice cream here?) "Je suis contente, j'adore le chocolat." (I am happy, I love chocolate.) Scene 9 - At the juice bar: asking what there is. "Qu'est-ce qu'il y a comme jus?" (What kind of juice is there?) "Non, il n'y a pas de jus de fraise." (No, there is no strawberry juice.) "Donc ça fait six euros en tout?" (So that is six euros in total?) Scene 10 - At the restaurant: asking for the bill. "Oui, on va demander l'addition au serveur." (Yes, we are going to ask the waiter for the bill.) "Ça fait vingt-six euros pour nous deux." (That is twenty-six euros for the two of us.) "Moi non plus, je n'ai pas de monnaie." (Me neither, I do not have change.)
