Not One Minute (Official Music Video) | The Gods Forgot Fenrir. He Counts Every Toast | Norse Epic

Somewhere the gods are pouring gold. Nobody at that table has thought about the wolf for a minute. So he counts their toasts — one scratch per cup. Mead pours into a horn. Fire, laughter, full benches. Cut: the same round shape, but it is an iron ring in a frozen slab, and every sound is gone. On the other end of the cord, on the winter island, Fenrir lies on bare black rock and watches one low patch of gold light on the horizon. In the hall nobody looks at the door. At the far end of the longest bench there is one empty place — and nobody looks at that either. "Not one of them gives me a minute of thought. That is the coldest of all they have brought." He is not raging. He reaches out one foreleg and scores a single scratch in the rock for every cup they raise. The frost fills the scratches white. Over the centuries the tally spreads until it covers the island — and the light across the ice never goes out, not for one night. In the Prose Edda the gods raised the wolf at home; only Týr dared feed him. When the fetter finally held, they all laughed — all but Týr. The one time he comes up at a feast, it is Loki using him as an insult. This song is what comes after the laughter. Dark ambient building into epic trailer music — a wide, haunting female voice against a low, raspy Viking male vocal, hollow empty-room space, one massive crescendo. Part of the Fenrir series — every video stands alone. Full saga in the playlist. #Fenrir #NorseMythology #EpicMusic #Viking #DarkAmbient
