A circular walk in the Lake District up to the fell of Seat Sandal (736m) The walk starts from the parking area beside the A591 on the outskirts of the village of Grasmere. We head up the valley beside Tongue Gill with some really good waterfalls at the head of the valley. From the waterfalls the walk heads up to Grisedale Tarn. Grisedale Tarn is surrounded by the fells of Fairfield, St Sunday Crag, Dollywagon Pike & Seat Sandal. From Grisedale Tarn, we then head up to the summit of Seat Sandal. The initial climb from the Tarn is fairly steep. The summit of Seat Sandal is a mixture of grass and rocks and is marked by a cairn. From the summit of Seat Sandal we then follow the grassy path back down towards Grasmere. Distance is around 5 miles.
