Here are 9 experiences worth seeking as a man. TRAVEL Not for Instagram. Not because you have a girlfriend to impress. Travel to learn. Pack your bags, go to Diani, meet new people, and come back with a different view of the world. If you have been in the same town for years, that alone will change something in you. NETWORKING SESSIONS Most attendees at these are women, and most men avoid them. Go anyway. But go to learn, not to sell. Everyone in that room is trying to pitch somebody, and almost nobody is there to actually listen. Be the one who listens. And build a personal brand first. Go and see how they build electric vehicles, how they produce shoes and furniture, how they source raw materials. See what young people there are doing. Then think about what you could bring home. BUSINESS EXPOS Go to the expos at KICC and see what people are showcasing. Startups, real businesses, people actually building things. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS ACROSS CLASSES This is the one people will argue with. If you find yourself around families who operate at a different level, do not shrink. Be a gentleman, be trustworthy, ask what they actually do, and offer your skills even for free at first. Real relationships with people ahead of you will teach you more than any course. That is not being a gold digger. That is paying attention. THRILL SEEKING Bungee jumping. Ziplining. Hot air ballooning in the Mara. Climbing Mount Kenya. Camping. The Giraffe Centre. Whatever gets your adrenaline going. Do things that challenge you, and do things you will still be telling your children about in 20 years.
