Night on top of Drachenkopf | Ehrwald | Tiroler Zugspitz Arena

Night on the summit of the Drachenkopf, a 2303-metre peak in the Mieminger range, above Ehrwald and Biberwier in Tyrol. From the summit, also known as the Vorderer Drachenkopf to distinguish it from the neighbouring Hinterer Drachenkopf, there is a magnificent view over Lakes Sebensee and Drachensee and the Zugspitze massif. I set off from Biberwier and, after a steep climb, reached the Biberwierer Scharte (2000 m). From here, the route continues gently downhill until it joins the path which then climbs to the summit via few short, easy sections with fixed ropes (about 1 hour and 10 minutes from the pass). In the morning, I then descended to the Coburger hut, from where I carried on to reach my next destination... A hike of about 6,5 km with a 1300-metre elevation gain. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notte in cima al Drachenkopf, cima di 2303 metri nel gruppo Mieminger, sopra Ehrwald e Biberwier in Tirolo. Dalla vetta, altrimenti chiamata Vorderer Drachenkopf, per differenziarla dalla vicina Hinterer Drachenkopf, si gode di un grandioso panorama sui laghi Sebensee, Drachensee e sul massiccio dello Zugspitze. Sono partito da Biberwier e con una ripida salita sono arrivato alla Biberwierer Scharte (2000 m.). Da qui in lieve discesa si prosegue fino ad incrociare il sentiero che poi, attraverso dei brevi e semplici tratti attrezzati sale in cima (1 ora e 10 circa dalla forcella). La mattina sono poi sceso al rifugio Coburger, da dove ho proseguito per raggiungere la prossima meta...
