This programme contains elements of life on Hayling Island, recorded during the Spring and Summer of 1999. Originally released on VHS tape.
Hayling Island is an island off the south coast of England, in the borough of Havant in the county of Hampshire, east of Portsmouth.
This is a personal view including footage of many of our leisure activities, including walking, cycling, horse riding, golf, real tennis, sailing, theatricals and fitness classes.
There are also shots of out-of-the-way parts of the island, that have caught the eye, while out and about, and which many residents may not normally get to see.
With the help of friends and acquaintances, and regular delvings into the Hayling Islander, we have also been able to feature some of the many outstanding sports people closely connected with the island, who have achieved major success, both nationally and internationally.
Most of the material would not have been possible to shoot without the generous help and cooperation of the people and local organisations.
A feature of interest to everyone is the section of aerial sequences shot around the coastline, showing Hayling from a totally different angle.
