What makes Kandovan so unusual is that these incredible cone-shaped rock formations are not simply ancient ruins or tourist attractions — they are part of a living village. Families still live, work, and run small local businesses among the rock-cut homes. Our journey begins as we arrive in Kandovan and meet an eight-year-old boy collecting the parking fee. From there, we walk deeper into the village, explore its narrow stone alleys, climb the steep stairways between the rock houses, visit the local market, and experience everyday life in this extraordinary part of IRAN. One of the most interesting moments of the journey happens when we step inside a real rock home. Inside, a local family shows us some of their products, including local honey and Chahar-Shireh, a traditional Iranian syrup. Seeing the inside of these homes completely changes the way Kandovan looks from the outside. As we continue through the village, we discover small shops, local products, traditional architecture, residents going about their daily lives, and countless doors and windows carved directly into the rocky landscape. Later, we climb to the hills on the opposite side of the valley for an incredible panoramic view of Kandovan. From there, you can truly see how the village and its unusual rock houses have become part of the mountain itself. This is not just a sightseeing tour of Kandovan. It's a closer look at real life inside one of Iran's most unusual villages — the people, the homes, the local businesses, and the everyday moments that most visitors never get to see.
