You are under the little roof beside the open-air bath (rotenburo), out of the rain. Hot water runs quietly from a bamboo spout into the stone bath — toku, toku — and never stops. Rain falls on the water and the wet stones. Steam drifts up into the dark. One lantern glows somewhere behind the steam. The bath is empty tonight — it's all yours. Every few minutes, a drop slips from the eaves and lands in the bath with a soft "pon". Nothing happens. Nothing changes. Just the rain and the water, until morning. There is no music in this video — only the rain, the trickling spout, and the occasional drop.
