Gaan Golpo Aar AI | BENGAL’S FOLKLORE MEETS THE FUTURE OF AI? | In Collaboration with EZCC

A little music. A few fascinating stories. A touch of technology. And a whole lot of Bengal! What if the timeless melodies of Bengal could find new expressions through Artificial Intelligence? What if the art of storytelling could evolve with AI-powered filmmaking? And what happens when our cultural roots meet the limitless possibilities of tomorrow? At Brainware University, these questions came alive through ‘Gaan Golpo Aar AI’ — a unique cultural and technological experience organised by Brainware University in collaboration with the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC). The campus came alive with folk music, engaging conversations, rhythmic dhak beats and a celebration of Bengal’s rich cultural heritage, all while exploring how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the creative world. WHEN MUSIC TELLS A STORY The evening began with Brainware University Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhyay welcoming Ashis Kumar Giri, Director of EZCC, to the campus. What followed was an engaging exchange of ideas around music, storytelling, culture and the growing possibilities of AI. Adding a special musical touch to the evening, Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhyay rendered the beloved Bengali folk songs ‘Bhalo Koira Bajao Go Dotara’ and ‘Sadher Lau Banailo More Boiragi’, bringing the spirit of Bengal’s musical traditions to life. FROM FOLKLORE TO AI-POWERED CREATIVITY Can AI compose music? Can technology transform the way we make films? Can modern tools help creative minds explore new forms of expression? The conversations explored the exciting possibilities of AI-generated music, AI-powered filmmaking and the evolving relationship between technology and creativity. Because the future of AI is not just about algorithms and machines. It is also about imagination, artistic expression and discovering new ways to tell stories. WHEN THE CAMPUS FOUND ITS FOLK RHYTHM But ‘Gaan Golpo Aar AI’ was not just about conversations on technology. It was about experiencing the magic of Bengal! Ashis Kumar Giri brought the spirit of Bengali folk music to the gathering with his soulful performances. The powerful beats of the dhak filled the campus with festive energy, evoking the excitement of Durga Puja. Brainware University’s Dance Club added vibrant moves and youthful energy to the celebration. Students experienced an evening where traditional music, cultural expression and contemporary technology came together in an atmosphere of shared joy. With Durga Puja around the corner, the melodies of Bengal and the beats of the dhak made the celebration even more special. ROOTED IN CULTURE. READY FOR THE FUTURE. ‘Gaan Golpo Aar AI’ carried a meaningful message: embracing innovation does not mean leaving our traditions behind. From folk songs passed down through generations to creative possibilities powered by Artificial Intelligence, culture continues to evolve, inspire and connect people across generations. At Brainware University, learning goes beyond classrooms. It is about exploring new ideas, experiencing diverse perspectives and preparing students to engage with a world where technology and creativity increasingly work together. Because the future belongs to those who can innovate without forgetting where they come from.
