Access to safe sanitation is essential for children's health, dignity, and well-being. With the support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), UNICEF is working with communities and local authorities across Bulolo and Huon Gulf Districts, Morobe Province, to end open defecation and promote building and use of safe toilets, handwashing with soap at critical times, proper waste disposal, and environmental hygiene, using the Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach. By empowering communities to take ownership of changing their poor sanitation and hygiene behaviours families are creating cleaner, healthier environments where children can survive, grow, learn and thrive. Part 2 of our four-part video series dives into how communities are leading the way towards improved sanitation and a more conflict-sensitive, climate-resilient, and child-friendly province.
