The devastating flash floods not only claimed lives and destroyed homes and infrastructure but also left deep emotional and psychological impacts on affected communities. In Dhading and Nuwakot, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) sessions were conducted with children and community members affected by the disaster. Through creative and recreational activities such as drawing, games, and deep-breathing exercises, children were encouraged to express their feelings and emotions in a safe environment. At holding centres, Psychosocial Support (PSS) sessions using the Look, Listen and Link approach helped individuals and groups share their experiences, concerns, and coping strategies following the disaster. Recovery is about more than rebuilding homes and livelihoods. It is about restoring hope, supporting emotional well-being, and ensuring that people feel safe, heard, and supported as they move forward.
