93% of moms are experiencing burnout — so why does it feel like we’re all still expected to just figure it out? In this video, I’m talking about mom burnout, motherhood, mental load, childcare, work-life balance, marriage after kids, and the pressure to “have it all.” And more importantly, what actually helped me make life with kids feel more manageable. I went through the research on maternal burnout and honestly, some of the numbers are insane. Moms are sleeping less, doing more childcare and household labor, putting careers on hold, and struggling to get enough support. And somehow the solution we keep hearing is to wake up earlier, get more organized, practice gratitude, and buy a better planner. I don’t think this is just a time-management problem. I also don’t think the answer is keeping score with your partner and trying to make every single thing exactly 50/50. I tried that in my own marriage, and it created more resentment instead of less. So I’m talking about what actually made a difference for us: reducing the mental load, simplifying our home, outsourcing what we can, using childcare without guilt, buying back time, finding flexible work, and trying to operate as a team instead of keeping score. This isn’t another “perfect mom” video. I’m still figuring this out too. But if you’re overwhelmed by motherhood, struggling with mom guilt, trying to balance kids and a career, or wondering why being a working mom feels so damn hard sometimes — I hope this makes you feel a little less alone and gives you something practical to take away. Tell me in the comments: what has actually helped lighten your load?
