Verse 1
My soul shall boast in God alone,
Whose praise is ever on my tongue;
My heart shall hear the humble cry,
And in His strength my soul is strong.
O magnify the Lord with me,
Let us exalt His holy Name;
For I sought God, and He replied,
And from my fears He set me free.
Chorus
O taste and see the Lord is good,
How blessed are all who trust His Word!
Come, children, hearken to my voice,
And learn to fear the glorious Lord.
No want shall they who fear Him know,
The young may faint, the strong may fall;
But those who seek the Lord shall find
His goodness free, His love for all.
Verse 2
The angel of the Lord encamps
Around the souls that fear His might;
He saves them in the hour of need,
And turns their darkness into light.
Come, children, listen to my voice,
The fear of God is wisdom's start;
Who longs for life and peaceful days,
Let him depart from evil's art.
Chorus
O taste and see the Lord is good,
How blessed are all who trust His Word!
Come, children, hearken to my voice,
And learn to fear the glorious Lord.
No want shall they who fear Him know,
The young may faint, the strong may fall;
But those who seek the Lord shall find
His goodness free, His love for all.
Verse 3
The righteous cry, and God has heard,
He saves them from their every woe;
The Lord is near the broken heart,
And saves the crushed in spirit low.
Though many are the troubles faced
Of those who walk within His way,
The Lord will keep each precious bone,
And from them all He will repay.
Chorus
O taste and see the Lord is good,
How blessed are all who trust His Word!
Come, children, hearken to my voice,
And learn to fear the glorious Lord.
No want shall they who fear Him know,
The young may faint, the strong may fall;
But those who seek the Lord shall find
His goodness free, His love for all.
Verse 4
The wicked shall their doom receive,
His foes shall be consumed and gone;
But God will His own soul redeem,
His saints shall rest, His work goes on.
No more their guilt, for Christ has bled,
The Lamb of God, our righteousness;
In Him our souls are justified,
And find in Him our perfect peace.
Final Chorus
O taste and see the Lord is good,
How blessed are all who trust His Word!
Come, children, hearken to my voice,
And learn to fear the glorious Lord.
No want shall they who fear Him know,
The young may faint, the strong may fall;
But those who seek the Lord shall find
His goodness free, His love for all.
Closing Doxology
To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God who hears His people's cry,
Be praise on earth and heaven's host,
From age to age, eternally.
