Are you on a Skilled Worker visa and have completed 5 years in the UK, but your wife or husband joined you later? Watch this before you apply for ILR. One wrong application can cost your family thousands of pounds.
In this video, UK Immigration Lawyer Roman Tabassum explains the 2 most common mistakes Skilled Worker families make (video in Urdu/Hindi):
❌ Mistake 1: Applying for your dependant's ILR together with yours when they have not completed their own 5-year qualifying period. Result: the dependant's ILR is REFUSED.
✅ The right way: The main applicant applies for ILR, and the dependant applies for a Dependant Visa EXTENSION.
❌ Mistake 2: Switching your partner to a Spouse Visa after you get ILR.
This means meeting the Appendix FM financial requirement and English language requirement, paying a new application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge, and worst of all, your partner's 5-year CLOCK RESETS to zero.
