KOF XI is really a game that not many people got to play due to limited release on the PS2, and no re-releases EVER despite how good it is. It seriously changed up the tag feature and made it more dynamic to play, the team rosters are massively shaken up (sounds familiar to a new game on the horizon...) and it brought back the universal blow back attack onto it's own button command. Also, this is the very first KOF that allowed you to cancel a DM into a Leader DM, called Dream Cancels (which would become much more prevalent in future KOF games). And, while not Athena related, this game had introduced me to my man Oswald as well as Elisabeth Blanchtorche, Ash's childhood friend. Here, Athena wears a Sailor uniform into full battle for the first time, something I'm aware SNK was very hesitant to do at the time. It may be a simple schoolgirl look for her but it still looks great on her. However, this is also the game that gave us the projectile spamming Final Boos that is Magaki, and, well.... I don't think ANYONE enjoys fighting that guy, but we don't have any choice... Athena has already spent the last month or so clawing through all manner of tough and cheap opponents to get here, and Magaki will be no different. We ARE proud Psycho Soldiers after all. Now, to note, after this video I'm going to be taking a break from the challenge, mainly because from here on out I have a snag: KOF XII will NOT be featured here in any way (it's basically a glorified, unfinished beta to KOF XIII, and I don't own it anyways, so no point in covering it), however, KOF XIII itself has NO single play mode whatsoever and only allows 3-on-3 play against the CPU in the main story game (which is also true for KOF XIV). So, it will be impossible to do a Single Mode from here on out with just Athena, so I will have to think about how I would like to cover the remaining two games in the challenge... But for now, I hope you've enjoyed the content so far.
