I have to say this: The original Angry Planes Mod had (has!) a Trojan which has been used to steal real money from certain well known youtube game channel Hosts. They made videos about that issue. I found a "cleaned" version of this mod at reddit (Note: I'm not gonna link that here, because I can't and don't take any responsiblilities tied to this mod and the possible threat it poses to your computer system and your files. If you wanna get it, you need to use google with the mentioned tags to find and download it for yourself), and can confirm that my computer did not got infected. But because it didn't got infected with the Trojan doesn't mean that you need to take the risk of using this mod (cleaned up or not). I urge you not to use it until the guys from the GTA5Mods Forum tell us it's been cleaned. You've been warned. ;)
As for this Video: Apocalyptic! I don't do much - I just stand around (as Michael) in the middle of the Downtown Area of Los Santos (near the FIB Building and opposite to the Union Depository). But even though I'm inactive and don't do anything things got very nasty as soon as I activated the mod.
There are two Versions in this Video: 1.) Late Evening / Night Time. At this time explosions and crashes are very visible. Less peds are on the streets and less cars as well. There is a car alarm in the vicinity which is a bit annoying (but towards the end of the night time version I got rid of it by standing near the car). Some very frightning Crashes happening at that time.
2.) Day Time. A bright day. More peds; more Cars... things are really nasty at this time. There are more terrifying crashes than it was at night time. The Planes are more visible and their course is more predictable with daylight.
In both versions I stopped time (simple trainer) in order to get a consistent enviroment. I look around in an erratic way (at times), because things are happening so fast and all around me that I have to look around very fast to catch as much of the good and spectacular crashes as I am able to catch (but I missed out a number of them - sorry, there is just too much going on here to know where to look at any given time).
Something unusal happened during these videos (apparent at daytime only). The Peds are running around and gathering at "safe spots" (these are spots where planes are not crashing too much or too often, so the peds just standing there doing nothing). I didn't put the planes to kamikaze me (that's an option in the mods config) or having them shooting rockets or missiles at me. As a result: They're coming close but never crash at me on purpose. Sometimes I have to make a few steps back to avoid getting hit by falling debries, but that's about it actually. In other words: Michaels position during this mayhem is somehow a "safe spot". It takes a while, but in time the peds starting to crowd around me. You won't see that because I did cut that part out (I tell you about that later on), but you can see the peds during daytime gathering at certain spots on the streets as long as a plane doesn't crash near them.
There were so many people around me that I couldn't make a step without bumping into someone. That was actually the reason for cutting this out, because unlike GTA IV, in GTA V "bumped into" people are getting angry very fast... as a result I found myself in the midst of a fistfight with about five people at the same time. One drew a gun; I did the same and a gun fight ensued which caused the cops to be all over me... so, yeah... that effectively ended the video and I did cut that out because this video is not about me causing violence on the streets of Los Santos, but about the apocalyptic action caused by this mod.
The strategy here was to stand in the midst of the skyscrapers so the planes really have to struggle to get near me without crashing at the sides of the buildings. And boy did they crash! They crash that much and so frequently that the audio channels can't catch up with the action - missing out a number of sound effects. It somehow creates the false impression of Michael getting deafen by all the explosions around him.
Nevertheless, it's very interesting how the peds reacted by gathering around me. It's annoying but a clever AI reaction.
