Harrington Beach State Park Summer 2021, Belgium Wis. : Once a Limestone Quarry & Town.

Today we're making a day trip to Harrington Beach State Park in Belgium Wisconsin as part of our 2021 travel season. Located about 40 minutes North of Milwaukee, the State park is situated on the shore of Lake Michigan. We'll explore the history of the Park... as it was initially a limestone quarry town and was later transformed into the State Park we enjoy today. One thing to note is that the beach is coming back. After several years of record high Lake Michigan water levels and the resulting erosion, finally the lake receded a bit this year allowing a bit more access to enjoy the beaches.
