The Late, Late Show | Peter Beets New York Vocal Summit - Lucy Yeghiazaryan

In 2022 I heard Lucy for the first time. It was in Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia, she was playing alongside my musical companions and friends Byron Landham and Houston Person. I bought her CD ‘In Her Words’, the one with Vanisha Gould, another great New York based jazz singer and also composer. This CD has been in my player for more than a year. Her voice and music grew on me more and more as I am sure her voice and music will grow on the audiences all over the world more and more. I invited her to come to Holland in 2023, but the tour was canceled because of her first pregnancy. In the spring of 2026 we finally shared the stage together and I was able to present her to the Dutch audience during her maiden voyage to the Netherlands. The reactions were, as you can hear in these videos, overwhelming. My trio and video/audio team are happy to present her to all of you through this channel. We are confident that she will be one of the main headliners of the future of Jazz. On drums, the allround Dutch phenomenon Martijn Vink, regular member of the Jazz Orchestra of Concertgebouw, the Metropole Orchestra, and rockstar Anouk as well as the Jesse van Ruller Trio. On bass, my homie, half Canadian half Dutch, born and raised in Vancouver, a resident of the Hague for the last 15 years, Steven Zwanink. We have added a very special young talent on saxophone who is gonna be a superstar in his own right, Gideon Tazelaar. Audio was as always mixed by Udo Pannekeet at Wedgeview Studios.
