As organisations operate across borders, they encounter different cultural norms, legal frameworks and expectations of ethical conduct. But when values conflict, whose should prevail?
In recognition of Global Ethics Day 2026, The Ethics Institute hosted a webinar exploring how multinational organisations can navigate competing ethical expectations while maintaining a consistent ethical position. The discussion examined the tension between ethical absolutism and moral relativism, and the challenges of balancing global ethical principles with local practices.
The webinar featured a panel discussion moderated by Jovita Matos Fazenda, with Dr Yvonne Katambo, Priscila Cabrera Jorquera and Driekie Havenga. The programme also included the launch of the South African Business Ethics Survey (SABES) 2026 by Dr Paul Vorster.
