Song of Forgiveness
A Story of Nature, Faith & Reconciliation ✨
One of the sacred lakes in Dagana Dzongkhag dried up, believed to have been affected by the carelessness of the surrounding community.
In response, a retreat Lama (Drubthob) composed a heartfelt letter of forgiveness addressed to the guardian deity of the lake, the Mermaid. He entrusted this sacred message to me, asking me to give it a voice through song.
Our legendary Music Director Tashi Wangdi and I recorded the song. Later, alongside the Lama and the villagers, the song was performed at the lake as part of traditional rituals and prayers.
Following this collective act of confession, prayer, and seeking forgiveness, we were told that the lake gradually returned to its normal state as though forgiveness had been accepted.
This experience touched me deeply. What began as a story of loss and regret became a journey of faith, reconciliation, and renewed respect for nature. I felt that this living story deserved to be preserved not only through words and music, but also through images.
And so, this music video was born.
With the generous support of DomCIIP, this heartfelt project has taken form. 🙏🏻
Yeshi Lhendrup Film has beautifully transformed this story into a visual journey, bringing the spirit and emotion of this song of forgiveness to life through their artistic vision. 🎬✨
My deepest gratitude to everyone who stood beside me throughout this journey to those who supported, guided, participated, and believed in this project. Every contribution, big or small, has helped make this offering possible.
May this song remind us of the delicate bond between human beings, nature, and the unseen world. May we learn to seek forgiveness, take responsibility, and live with greater compassion and respect for all beings.
With gratitude, faith, and a humble heart. 🙏🏻✨
