SOMALIA EBOLA

Somalia's health authorities have placed a citizen in quarantine after it emerged that the individual had travelled with a Kenyan man who was later confirmed to have died from Ebola in Nairobi. The Somali national has been admitted to an isolation facility in Mogadishu for medical assessment, while health officials work to trace contacts and monitor anyone who may have been exposed. The development has once again focused attention on regional disease surveillance, cross-border health coordination and Africa's preparedness to respond to potential outbreaks. To help us understand the situation and the reaction in Somalia, we were joined by, Abdirahman Jeylani Mohamed, Media Founder and Communications Specialist. #africaworldhour #ebolavirus #somalianhealthauthorities #crossborderhealth
