Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation.
The Background:
Angela Kelly (then 28) was the girlfriend of Steven Washington (then ~30, of Tunica, Mississippi) and cousin of Ivan Keener (21-year-old MSU student).
After a verbal confrontation with several women (including Aieka and Miracle Chatman) at a friend’s house, Keener called Angela and her sister Jessica and asked them to come fight the women. He later testified he did not want to fight women himself.
Angela brought Washington to the location. Court testimony and reports described the underlying dispute as a petty, alcohol-related argument among young people. No other verified motive is detailed in public records.
The Crime:
October 12, 2018, just before 3 a.m., outside the 25 East apartment complex (2500 block of Chandler Street), East Lansing, Michigan.
Using a GPS tracker, the group located the women’s apartment. Keener called them outside; Angela and Jessica then engaged in a physical fight (punching, hair-pulling, and kicking, per witness testimony).
During the fight, Isai Berrones (22-year-old MSU senior from Alamo, Texas) left his apartment and was shot once in the chest. He died from the gunshot wound.
Angela’s charged role was accessory after the fact. No verified evidence that she planned or fired the shot.
The Investigation:
East Lansing police responded to reports of fighting and shots fired and found Berrones wounded.
Angela was questioned at the time of her arrest (arrests of Kelly and Keener confirmed by mid-December 2018).
Evidence linked to her included her vehicle: shell casings and cartridges recovered from it matched those from the shooting scene, and Washington’s identification items were found inside.
Witnesses placed her at the scene with Washington, Keener, and Jessica. The group fled together in a car after the shooting. No major verified inconsistencies specific to her own statements are detailed in public reports.
Conviction and Sentencing:
Angela Kelly was charged with accessory after the fact to a felony.
A plea hearing was scheduled for February 20, 2020.
The final plea, conviction, sentence, and current status are not verified in available public court records or reports.
