Connecting ETCS for the future - from GSM R to FRMCS

As Australia moves towards a more unified digital railway, reliable, high-quality connectivity between onboard train systems and trackside infrastructure is critical to the successful deployment of ETCS Level 2.  This MasterClass will explore the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters specified by ETCS standards, the network elements that support them, and practical approaches for measuring and validating compliance on existing networks. It will then examine how these requirements translate to Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) networks and their transport layers, including private 5G and public mobile network operator (MNO) networks. The session will highlight key considerations for FRMCS deployments as Australia prepares for the wider rollout of ETCS Level 2 and greater national rail interoperability.
