HOUSEHOLD IRON STARTING SETTINGS
• Temperature: approximately 135–145°C
• Steam and water spray: OFF
• Initial press: approximately 10 seconds per section
• Pressure: firm and even—you supply the pressure
• Cooling: approximately 30–60 seconds; longer if still hot
• Finishing press: 10–15 seconds per section through baking paper
These instructions apply to DTF Transfers Australia’s products specifically labelled Iron-On DTF Transfers. Standard DTF transfers, gang sheets and speciality finishes are not suitable for a household iron.
Household irons and fabrics vary. Follow the instructions supplied with your order, check the garment’s care label and test first. Suitable cotton T-shirts are the best starting point. We strongly recommend against using this household-iron method on polyester; blends and hoodies also need careful testing.
If the design lifts while peeling, stop, lower the carrier film back into position, cover with baking paper and re-press the affected area. Allow it to cool again before retrying. Never iron directly onto the exposed print.
Wait at least 24 hours before washing. Wash inside out in cold water with mild detergent, avoid bleach and fabric softener, and line dry wherever possible.
A household iron makes heat and pressure harder to control, so print durability can vary compared with a transfer correctly applied using a proper heat press.
