Peel the yam and cut into cubes. 2. Add the cubes to water with turmeric, tamarind and salt. Boil till 3/4 cooked – don't let it turn mushy. 3. Take the yam out with a slotted spoon and put it on a plate. 4. In a plate, mix gram flour, rice flour, corn flour, chilli powder, garam masala, salt and ginger garlic paste. 5. Add the boiled yam, sprinkle a little water and coat every piece well. 6. Heat oil in a pan and add the coated yam pieces. 7. Shallow fry on medium flame. 8. Add curry leaves, flip and fry till golden. 9. Fry till crispy. Senai Kizhangu Varuval is ready! 💡 TIPS • Boiling with tamarind stops the itchy feeling yam can sometimes give. • Boil only till 3/4 cooked – it finishes cooking while frying and stays in shape. • Rice flour + corn flour make the coating extra crispy. ⏱ CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro 0:10 Cutting the yam 0:20 Boiling with turmeric & tamarind 1:36 Taking out the boiled yam 2:06 Making the masala coating 3:09 Coating the yam 3:51 Shallow frying 4:39 Adding curry leaves 5:18 Varuval ready 📌 MORE RECIPES Mullangi Sambar – radish sambar:    • Mullangi Sambar Recipe | Radish Sambar in ...   Pepper Rasam – no rasam powder:    • Pepper Rasam Recipe | Milagu Rasam Without...   Rava Kesari – soft Kalyana Veetu style:    • Rava Kesari Recipe | Soft Kalyana Veetu Ke...   👍 If you liked this recipe, please LIKE, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE for more homestyle recipes! 🔔 Turn on notifications so you never miss a new video. #SenaiKizhanguVaruval #YamFry #SouthIndianFood
