Mindanao, Part 4: Nabunturan, Compostela Valley to Davao City

Day 5, 4th & last segment of Day 5 covers from Axl Dave Bibingka Specialty in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley up to Hotel Tropika, Lanang, and Davao City. Distance is about 70+Km within 110+Mins drive time. Stopped by a fruit vendor along AH26 in Tagum to try durian in Mindanao for the first time. Was not able to drop by Compostela Landmark but was able to visit Christ the King Cathedral in Tagum where its iconic palm tree lined highway is a sight to behold. Encountered Davao’s traffic from Bunawan onwards to the city due to 3 accidents involving trailers. Arrived at the hotel around 1800Hrs. As per research, stuck with the 60KPH on AH26/ Pan Philippine Highway, 40 on the city’s main roads & 30KPH on the inner roads since Davao City implemented Non-contact apprehension meaning violations can show upon the vehicle’s time of registration. For non-local based drivers, this will become a valid reason to go back to Davao to settle the fine 😊. Tagum & Panabo have their overpasses under construction. The following towns were passed AH26/ Maharlika Highway southbound direction: Nabunturan & Mawab in Compostela Valley and Tagum City, Carmen, Panabo City in Davao del Norte then finally Davao City.
