DJay 95 Plays: Motocross Go! (Arcade) Longplay

Hey players, DJay here with another arcade exclusive longplay on a racing game, Motocross Go! Note: Played through the special Namco System 23 fork of MAME with one of the few notable fixes being the attract screen. Description of the game: Motocross Go! is an arcade exclusive motocross game by Namco in October 1997 on the Namco System 23 hardware, being the first game ever to run on Namco's final custom arcade hardware. One of the secret bikes, Devil, is based off of the Soldat Crinale car from the Ridge Racer series. One of the many tricks that can be performed in mid-air, Rolling Thunder, takes its name from the run and gun game series of the same name, also by Namco. Pac-Man appears in the game, seen as a statue in the outside area. In the game, players choose between 4 selectable bikes with 2 bikes selectable as secrets (hold throttle and brake buttons simultaneously and press view button on the bike select screen. Selecting YZ250 selects the Devil bike, while selecting YZ400F selects Shinzo, a transparent rider with a visible heart). There are 3 different courses, each taking place on the same track, but each varying in difficulty. (Novice is set on the first half, Intermediate is set on the second.half and Advanced consists of both Novice and Intermediate, integrating it into the full course) While racing in each course, players must race against 16 opponents on the way to the finish. At certain spots, if the player jumps off at certain speeds, they will perform tricks. In the halfway section, the player must ride down the straight and set a speed record attempt. Crashing into walls or other racers will knock the player off their bike, causing them to reset afterwards. If the timer reaches zero, the race ends immediately.
