The Chimeric Winged Lion is a beast that wields Anemo and Electro with deadly force, but does little to protect itself during its reckless offense. Preparing the proper counterattacks will swiftly interrupt the chimera and allow you to retaliate with ease.
The Chimeric Winged Lion begins the battle by placing an Electro Ward on itself. This can be destroyed using typical elemental reactions, and the Lion will collapse once the Ward is destroyed.
The Lion's usual first attack will be to unleash a pair of Anemo claw swipes in your direction - backing away from these swipes is the easiest way to stay out of range, though normal dashes also work. The Lion then chooses an Electro follow-up attack based on your distance to the chimera. If you're in close range, it will ready an Electro blade before slashing with it after a delay - the slash itself is executed very quickly, so be careful not to dash too late. If you're distant, the Lion will instead leap into the air and ready an Electro blade before rushing downwards to slash at you - running under the Lion is the simplest method of evading, though a timed dash also works.
The Lion may also execute the airborne Electro blade as an independent attack whenever you're distant, and the Lion may access a second Electro slash after it lands if you remain in close proximity; if you have to deal with the added swing, a timed dash will evade it.
If the Lion spins and forms an Electro pylon in its hand, it will slam it down to create an Electro shockwave. It will then blast Anemo onto its pylon, creating four additional shockwaves at intervals indicated by Anemo pulsing in the Lion's mouth. These shockwaves cannot be jumped over, so you must time dashes to them. From my personal experience, a sideways dash best deals with the initial shockwave, and the remaining Anemo pulse shockwaves can be avoided by dashing toward the pylon. Use the Anemo pulse from the Lion before each wave to assist with timing. If the Lion is affected by a Stellar reaction, it will suffer feedback after the first Electro wave, ending the attack early and heavily damaging the Lion's Electro ward.
At a distance, the Lion may summon five Electro orbs, which will be sent towards you with slight homing after a delay. Simply run in a direction to the side of the orbs to remain safe.
Once the Lion recovers from having its Electro ward broken, it will enter its Galeforce mode and focus on Anemo attacks. It will begin by flying on a fixed curve path away from you while summoning an array of Anemo blades that will fire down at you after a delay. Run to the Lion's side as it flies, and the Anemo blades will miss you in the process.
When the Lion lands, it will turn towards the area it flew away from and fire a pair of elemental beams that sweep the area. However, it makes no consideration as to where you are during this, so standing next to the Lion will make the entire attack whiff.
Once the beam attack ends, the Lion will summon five Anemo orbs and attempt to absorb them. If the Lion absorbs at least three Anemo orbs, its Anemo phase will continue; otherwise, the Lion will collapse once no more orbs remain on the field. Any element that can be Swirled (Pyro, Cryo, Electro, Hydro) can break an Anemo orb with a single hit. Alternatively, if you have Stellar reactions in your party, afflicting the Lion with a Stellar reaction will instantly make the Lion collapse and cause it to take severe recoil damage. The Lion will regenerate its Electro ward once it gets back up in both cases.
Should the Anemo phase continue, the Lion perform its flight attack pattern again. It also has the ability to perform an airborne charging attack at you, which a timed dash will evade. The Lion will eventually regain its Electro ward and return to its Electro attacks.
As a minor note, when the Lion restores its Electro ward, should Pyro or Cryo be on the Lion at the time, an Overload or Superconduct reaction will occur and be considered the Lion's reaction - this can damage you if you're too close, so get distance from the Lion if necessary to avoid this interaction.
Attack the Lion swiftly with the correct elements, and you can prevent it from even attempting most of its attacks. Enough Pyro/Cryo on the Electro phase will likely bring the Lion's Electro Ward down before it can get through much of its second attack. In the Anemo phase, Stellar reactions end the Anemo orb attack with next to no effort; otherwise, you can simply destroy three orbs and ignore the rest, dedicating the remaining time to attacking the chimera instead.
