Welcome back to Motorhoming Fun.
This is probably one of the biggest videos I've ever shared on the channel.
After months of pain, scans, appointments and preparing for surgery, the day finally arrived for my Reverse Shoulder Replacement.
In this video I take you through everything that happened from Day 0 until Day 3, showing the real recovery process with no filters.
You'll come with me as I prepare for hospital, arrive for surgery and begin what I hope will be a life-changing recovery journey.
During this video I cover:
🏥 Arriving at hospital
💉 Preparing for surgery
😴 My experience having sedation instead of a full general anaesthetic
💙 Recovery immediately after surgery
🩺 Pain management
❄️ Using ice therapy
💊 My medication routine
🍽️ Eating after surgery
🏠 Going home
👕 The challenge of changing T-shirts
🩹 Living with the sling
😴 Sleeping after shoulder replacement
🚿 Washing and everyday tasks
💪 Learning how to manage with one arm
🐶 Being reunited with Skye
❤️ The emotional side of recovery
I also talk honestly about what surprised me, what was easier than expected and what has been much harder during those first few days.
If you're waiting for a Reverse Shoulder Replacement, rotator cuff surgery or any major shoulder operation, I hope this video gives you a realistic idea of what to expect.
Everyone's recovery is different, but sometimes hearing someone else's story can make the journey a little less worrying.
If you've already had this operation, I'd love to hear how your recovery compared with mine.
Please leave a comment below and let everyone know:
➡️ How long ago was your surgery?
➡️ What was your biggest challenge?
➡️ When did you start feeling like yourself again?
If this video helps even one person feel more prepared, then sharing my journey will have been worthwhile.
If you're new to the channel, don't forget to Subscribe as I'll be documenting my recovery over the coming weeks and months, along with getting back out in the campervan with Skye as soon as I'm able.
Thank you so much for all your messages, support and encouragement throughout this journey—it really has meant a great deal.
