Kawaiʻulaokalā Ke Kumu Keliʻihoʻomalu Puchalski ʻAiea & Kaiwiʻula, Oʻahu (Kāne) "Liuā Ke Kaha O Kaʻena" As Hiʻiaka passes through Waialua, she arrives at the most western point on the island of Oʻahu. There at Kaʻena, she greets her brothers Kalaeokaʻena and Pōhakuokauaʻi. She requests a canoe from them so that she may sail from Oʻahu to Kauaʻi across the Kaʻieʻiewaho Channel. After several requests for a canoe were denied, Hiʻiaka, determined to reach Kauaʻi, builds one herself.
