The game's central theme is money, introduced by the attract-mode slogan “This world is all about money!” Each match begins with both players holding $10,000. Players then choose from a selection of short competitive minigames, each with a predetermined wager. The winner takes the wagered amount from the opponent.
The overall presentation carries a light, cartoonish tone that incorporates slapstick humor through exaggerated physical comedy.
The objective is to reduce the opponent's money to zero, resulting in bankruptcy and victory. Conversely, reaching zero yourself means losing the match. Since the wager increases as the contest progresses, matches are usually decided within only a few rounds, often functioning as an effective best-of-three contest.
In single-player mode, the player faces three CPU opponents in a fixed sequence.
Defeating the second opponent upgrades the player's appearance with more luxurious clothing. After defeating the final opponent, the game displays the total amount of money earned and allows the player to enter the rankings if the score is high enough.
The single-player route is considerably shorter than those of previous Tant-R games, while the overall difficulty is notably high. Completing the game while using only a single type of minigame throughout earns a special “○○ KING” title. The arcade version also features a staff roll at the end, a first for the series on arcade hardware.
The game features six selectable characters:
Lucky is the only female character.
Mii has a cat-like appearance.
Bingo has a dog-like appearance.
Mr. Pinch is dressed in a mafia-style suit.
Cheap is a robot.
Juzo is an elderly character.
The characters have no gameplay-statistical differences, and their designs use a distinctive stylized paper-craft or cut-out aesthetic, in contrast to the more Bonanza Bros.-inspired character designs of earlier Tant-R titles.
In single-player mode, the CPU opponents appear in a fixed order: Mii, Juzo, and Cheap.
The game consists entirely of head-to-head minigames. In two-player mode, both players select the contest, while the single-player mode allows the player to choose freely when competing against the CPU. There are thirteen minigames in total, and the same game can be selected repeatedly.
The control scheme remains deliberately simple, using an 8-way joystick and a primary action button. When a minigame ends in a tie or time-out, three on-screen judges determine the winner.
Air Hockey requires the first player to score two goals. Protective blocks surrounding the goal break after being hit twice.
Balloon Shooting gives each player a limited supply of arrows for popping the opponent's balloons. Additional arrows can be collected from the playfield to replenish the supply. Popping two balloons secures the victory.
Timed-Bomb Throwing has players throw numbered bombs that explode after a countdown. Detonating three bombs in the opponent's area scores a point, and the first player to score two points wins.
Memory Challenge is a variation on the series' traditional memory games. Players must reproduce sequences of up, down, left, and right inputs that become progressively longer. The first player to make a mistake loses.
Hari-Sen Combat has players chase a fleeing thief and strike him to make him drop jewels. Players must collect the jewels within the time limit and can also stun their opponent.
Coin Change takes place at a convenience-store register. Over five rounds, players rapidly select exact change from their available coins. The player left with fewer small coins wins.
Weapon Arena begins with machine guns and introduces additional weapons through falling power-ups, including rocket launchers and bows. Players can use drums as cover, and the battle ends when one player's health is depleted.
Go-Kart Racing is a straightforward race in which the first player to complete two laps wins.
Putter Golf is decided by the player who completes the hole in the fewest strokes. Ties are resolved by a closest-to-the-pin sudden-death contest.
Paint Mixing challenges players to combine colors until they match a sample displayed on screen. The first player whose mixture is approved by the teacher wins.
Downhill Bread Eating combines racing and obstacle avoidance. Players must eat as many loaves of bread as possible while navigating downhill and avoiding obstacles before reaching the finish.
Falling-Object Catching requires players to move a bucket and catch falling bags and jewels. Different objects are worth different amounts.
Ant Luring is a hidden minigame available only in two-player play. Each player places candy to attract ants, and the winner is the player who attracts the larger swarm to their side.
