Dr Seán Cullen talks designing for the post-carbon condition

We were joined last week by Dr Seán Cullen, Assistant Professor (Ad Astra Fellow) in Housing and Post-Carbon Communities, at UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy, for a discussion on how we can design for a future defined by uncertainty and change in the face of accelerating climate change, technological innovation and social transformations. This presentation explores how architecture and design research can bring together knowledge from different disciplines to make complex systems visible and imagine alternative futures. It considers the potential of design not simply as a means of shaping our built environment, but as a way of seeing, thinking and speculating about adaptable, resilient and sustainable futures.
