"The Touch That Drew Divine Power" Life is not without trials and tribulations. At some point in our lives, we have all faced difficult times—moments that have left us feeling weak, sad, discouraged, or even physically unwell. Even as we listen to this message, some of us may be going through challenging circumstances or struggling with sickness. Whatever trials we may be facing or whatever sickness we may be battling, God's Word offers us hope, comfort, and strength. Through His Word, we are reminded of God's power, His unfailing love, and His ability to sustain us even in our darkest moments. The Gospel of Mark, chapter 5, verses 24–34, introduces us to a woman who had been suffering from bleeding for twelve long years. The Bible tells us that she had suffered greatly under the care of many doctors, had spent all that she had, and instead of getting better, she grew worse. Imagine her suffering—not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and perhaps even socially. Twelve years of pain, disappointment, and seemingly unanswered hopes. Yet, despite everything she had endured, she did not give up. Jesus was on His way to the house of Jairus to attend to his dying daughter when a large crowd followed Him and pressed around Him. Many people were close to Jesus, and many would have touched Him in that crowd. Yet, one particular touch stands out in the biblical account: the touch of this suffering woman. What made her touch so special? It was not merely the physical act of touching Jesus' garment. It was the faith behind her touch. The woman said to herself, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed” (Mark 5:28). At a time when her body was growing weaker, when her patience was being tested, and when her emotional strength may have been wearing thin, she refused to give up her faith. She believed that even touching Jesus' garment would be enough. And when she touched His garment, she was immediately healed. Jesus Himself acknowledged her faith, saying, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering” (Mark 5:34). The power was not in the garment itself; the healing came from Jesus. Her faith moved her to reach out to Him, and she experienced His healing power. This woman reminds us of a profound spiritual truth: when we reach out to Jesus in faith, we place our hope in the One who is greater than our trials, our fears, and our suffering. But how do we touch Jesus today? We may not be able to touch His physical garment as the woman did, but we can reach out to Him through faith. Let the humble prayer rising from your broken heart reach Jesus. Let your desperate cry, calling upon His mighty name, reach Jesus. When you close your eyes, surrender your heart to Him, and turn your spirit towards Him in faith, reach out to Jesus. When the world offers no answers, when human strength fails, and when every earthly support seems insufficient, remember that you can still turn to Jesus in prayer and faith. This does not mean that we will never face suffering or that every sickness will be healed immediately. Rather, it reminds us that we can trust Jesus in every circumstance, seek His help, and find peace and strength in His presence. Dear friends, I pray that this message blesses you, strengthens your faith, and encourages you to place your ultimate trust in Jesus Christ—not in riches, material possessions, assets, or human connections, but in the Lord who remains our hope and refuge. May the Word of God strengthen your heart, bring you peace, and sustain you through every trial. And may the Lord, according to His will and grace, bring healing to those who are sick and comfort to those who are suffering. All praise, glory, and honour be to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! Amen.
