A MAN SAT STILL ON THE PLANE - HE WAS ALREADY DEAD | Dag Heward-Mills

On a midnight flight from Mali to Paris, the crew calls for a doctor on board. Worn out from preaching, Dag Heward-Mills finally raises his hand and finds a man sitting perfectly still next to his son - already dead. He walks through exactly what it takes to confirm someone has died: checking breathing, checking for a pulse, shining a light into the eyes to see if the pupils react. Then he ties it back to Genesis 3: the serpent told Eve she wouldn't die, and on the surface nothing seemed to happen when she and Adam ate the fruit. But just like the man on the plane, something deeper had already happened - separation from God, the first sign that can't be casually diagnosed.
