Women's 800m Final · Wanda Diamond League · Lausanne

Eight hundredths of a second. That is all that separated two of the finest 800m runners in the world on one of the most breathless final straights in recent memory. Audrey Werro and Femke Broeders-Bol came into this Wanda Diamond League clash having already proven themselves at the highest level — but nothing could quite prepare the crowd in Lausanne for what unfolded over those two laps. Sagaye Tsehaye also lines up for Ethiopia, while Valentina Vancardo, Addison Wiley, Lilian Odira, Prudence Sekgodiso, Koratile Nowe, Sage Hurta-Klecker, and Mirte van der Schoot complete a field full of genuine ambition and firepower. From the first bend to the final straight, every position, every move, every stride carries consequence.
