TBIH2025 | Carl Nielsen Museum

Presentation of the European Museum Academy's Luigi Micheletti Award winner 2024, from Odense, Denmark. The Carl Nielsen Museum is a new kind of composer museum. It offers a fresh approach to a biographical, composer’s museum whereby the music is the portal into the musician’s life and creative universe. Music is the mechanism into finding out about a person, not the other way around. The composer’s unique life is revealed through his compositions, with only fragments of it highlighted within a musical constellation. Snippets of sound are introducing visitors to key moments of the composer’s life, through which we are telling his personal story, the story of his era and the story of his music. Presented by Mads Runge, Head of Development, Museum Odense Mads Runge holds a PhD and serves as Head of Development at Museum Odense, where he is responsible for museums and research related to Carl Nielsen, Denmark's most renowned composer, the author H.C. Andersen, and the sculptor Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen. Mads has held various leadership positions in the fields of research and development and was responsible for the nomination of the Danish Viking Age ring fortresses for inclusion as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in a serial nomination. Additionally, he has chaired national advisory bodies within the museum sector. Read more: https://presentations.thebestinherita...
