Making My Secret Dugout Cozy | Handcrafted Door, Windows & Solo Overnight

Hello everyone! The work on my forest dugout shelter continues. In this part, my main goal was to finally invite natural light inside. I installed glass panels into the front wall along with window inserts in the back. Looking out from inside and seeing the wild woods reflected in the glass proved that every single hour of labor was worth it. Next, I crafted the door. I built it completely by hand from rough wooden planks, fitted the frame, and mounted the door on sturdy hinges. With the door hung, this underground space officially transformed from a rough trench into a genuine, warm, and secure woodland retreat. As twilight settled across the trees, I lit a crackling campfire, cooked a hearty dinner of seasoned meat and fresh vegetables, and simply embraced the quiet. Later, I laid out my sleeping spot inside and stayed until sunrise, listening to the gentle murmurs of the nocturnal forest. A truly peaceful respite for the mind and soul.
