What is it actually like to run the Boston Marathon from beginning to end? This video takes you through my complete 2026 Boston Marathon experience, starting with the trip to Boston and continuing through race weekend, Marathon Monday, the entire race, and the trip home. More importantly, I take you along for the parts of Boston that spectators never see and first-time Boston runners often have questions about. You'll see exactly what happens on race morning, including bag check, getting to the buses, the bus ride to Hopkinton, arriving at Athletes' Village, waiting for your wave, moving into the staging and start areas, and finally crossing the starting line. Then we run Boston. You'll experience the course from a runner's perspective, including the towns, spectators, famous sections of the course, Newton Hills, Heartbreak Hill, the final miles into Boston, and the finish on Boylston Street. And it doesn't stop at the finish line. I show what happens afterward, including receiving the Boston Marathon medal, moving through the finish area, and the post-race experience. I was 70 years old when I ran the 2026 Boston Marathon, and I came to Boston with one major goal: break four hours. Official finish time: 3:59:25. If you're preparing to run Boston for the first time, I hope this gives you a good idea of exactly what to expect. If you're a runner, a Boston Marathon fan, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes at one of the world's most famous marathons, come along for the entire journey. I'm RJ, and I'm Still Running.
