That Mexican OT is a rapper from Bay City Texas. This interview was in Houston right inside the building of Johnny Dang. Mike Mills was kind enough to let us use his store, “The Closet”. In this video, we talked to OT about his rough upbringing with losing his mother and having his dad go to jail early on. This made him run around free in Texas, coming home late at night in the first grade, going through sewers with his friends and cousins. OT talks about his dad making him rap battle his grown up friends when OT was just in elementary school. Sometimes he would wake him up from sleep just to do that. OT talks about how he starting the trend of rolling his R’s in his raps. Also touches on how people compare him to DaBaby and Kevin Gates, but said he shits on their delivery. He gives Kevin Gates props for being a better singer than him though. OT also talks about expanding his beats and said maybe one day he’d even hop on a Playboi Carti type beat. Arshan & OT also discussed the story of the mexican singer, Chalino Sanchez, and how OT’s parents told him about that story early on. OT talks us through his favourite Texas rappers and says Travis Scott isn’t one of the artists he listens to.
