Why Every Planner You Buy Fails (And the Page Layout That Doesn't)
In one well-known study, students predicted they'd finish their theses in about 34 days. On average, it took them 55 and a half, longer than even their worst-case guesses. Most planners are built around that same optimism: room for a dozen tasks a day, dated pages that keep a record of every gap, and a cover that only works if you remember to open it. So what does a planner page look like when it's designed for real days, including the hard ones?

In this video we look at three reasons standard planners so often end up abandoned on a shelf, using research on the planning fallacy, the fresh start effect and if-then planning. Then we walk through a simple one-page, undated layout with six sections: the one to three, the low-energy version, if-then, time guesses, the parking lot, and done. You'll also see where to keep it, when to fill it in, and how to start again after a gap with nothing to catch up on.
Calm, practical systems for everyday life, for teens and adults with ADHD, autistic and AuDHD brains, and anyone who finds routines, planning and housework harder than they "should" be. No hype, no shame, no "just try harder". Just gentle structure you can actually keep.
